Western cultures tend to value self-confidence and direct action as an expression of competence. Unfortunately for westerners, many other cultures interpret such behaviour as a sign of rudeness, arrogance or disinterest toward another person.

The "Intercultural self management" training programme is designed to

• give a clear insight into one's own behaviour and its effect on members of other cultures
• highlight the strengths and weaknesses of self management, and
• expand the participant's repertoire of skills and abilities for dealing competently with intercultural situations
