Alexander Scheitza, managing director of RADIUS Communication & intercultural cooperation. Alexander is a psychologist with a tertiary degree from Saarbrücken/Germany and Aberdeen/Scotland, where he specialised in Intercultural Psychology. He has designed and delivered training and coaching programmes in a range of settings since 1994, including private industry, public administration, social work and international project groups. The primary objective of this support is to enhance the success and enjoyment experienced by those involved in intercultural cooperation. He also facilitates train-the-trainer and train-the-coach workshops for fellow interculturalists and Open Space workshops for groups and organisations which wish to deal with complex situations in productive ways.
His services are not only based on the specific individual or organisational needs of his clients and on his own experience in intercultural project groups, but also on the academic research he has carried out on intercultural competence, diversity management and the value of intercultural training programmes. He has maintained close contact with the academic world through his activities as a university lecturer and tutor in Intercultural Communication at Saarland University and in European Administrative Management (MA course for a network of German Universities of Applied Sciences for Administration). He also enjoys developing training materials and undertakes evaluation studies for international cooperation programmes.
Alexander Scheitza is qualified in Systemic Consulting (Fritz Simon, IGST Heidelberg) "Metaplan" visualisation facilitation techniques and goal-oriented project planning (GOPP). Currently he is president of SIETAR Germany (Society for Intercultural Training, Education and Research) the world's oldest and largest organization of intercultural professionals as well as Co-editor of the SIETAR publication series “contributions to intercultural cooperation” and member of the editorial board of “European Journal of Cross-Cultural Competence and Management (EJCCM)“. Furthermore he is a founding member of the Cologne Institute for Intercultural Competence (KIIK).
